Bianca Das Soil scientist, The University of Queensland & CSIRO
As a PhD student with The University of Queensland and CSIRO Agriculture and Food, Bianca’s current research explores computer modelling as a tool to help farmers find strategies to improve their phosphorus fertiliser efficiency and reduce loss into the environment.
She is passionate about soils, science communication, global agricultural development, nutrition security and human rights.
Bianca volunteers for OzHarvest and the Researchers in Agriculture for International Development (RAID) Network to promote sustainable use of food in Australia and around the world. In 2019, she travelled to Antarctica as part of the Homeward Bound program. Bianca is a keen photographer and is developing a strategy to combine her love of art and science to raise funds for disadvantaged women in STEMM so they can continue to pursue their career.
