The Longreach STEM Hub
Established in September 2018, the Longreach STEM Hub is hosted by Longreach Regional Council.
Meeting dates for 2019 are to be confirmed.
Planned activities in 2019
February 2019 – STEM Immersion. This day brings together a number of STEM related practitioners and University level students to discuss with participants the career paths available in the STEM Space. Presenters will come from the various fields and bodies including Engineers Without Borders, Women in Technology, and Games Development, Universities.
March 2019 – AGtek. This forum will include the latest technological advances in the field of Agriculture and Primary Industries, including but not limited to Automation, Digital Soil Mapping, Datafarming and mapping, climate modelling. Partners include DAF, and Universities
April 2019 – Coding for Games and Animation. These workshops will show participants how to code for motion, for inclusion in games and other animations. Partners include Game developers, Schools, Universities, RAPAD.
May 2019 – It’s Rocket Science. Rockets and Drones are the way of the future. This workshop shows the how and why of Rockets and drones into the future.
