This is travelling exhibition of caves, cave biology and the exploration and discovery of how this unique environment works. The Exhibition showcases the results of over 30-years of scientific research, 7 years of filming, and hundreds of millions of years of evolution, from the break-up of Gondwana to the present day.

Co-Director & Producer, Dr Niall Doran is excited to be bringing SIXTEEN LEGS to Queensland. “We are incredibly grateful that this project has been assisted by the Australian Government’s Visions of Australia program. Our aim is to provide regional and remote areas with an equal opportunity to experience what we have been touring to the capitals”.

The outcomes to date from touring this exhibition have been strong and enthusiastic responses from regional communities that often do not get such events in their area. This is a chance to delve into real and fantasy representations of a world that most people may never experience first-hand.

While environmental messages are often doom & gloom, this is an inventive and inspiring connection to an ancient natural world. This project aims to make the Exhibition more than just a visiting display by promoting community involvement as part of the exhibition itself.

This is an opportunity for regional artists to be involved in the ongoing interpretation of an unusual and beautiful Australian world alongside the creative mind and popular appeal of author Neil Gaiman. Across Australia there is declining engagement with education and science, and our aim is to help inspire and reverse that trend.
