IAG and Out for Australia are delighted to be hosting a discussion about the experience of LGBTIQ+ professions in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). We have four amazing STEM professionals who will be able to share their experiences and give advice to those who are still studying or in the early stages of their careers:

  • Professor Craig Franklin (Deputy Head of School, UQ School of Biological Sciences)
  • Roz Dickson (Senior Engineer/Electrician at Control Technologies International)
  • Dr Andrew Amey (Collection Manager of Amphibians and Reptiles, Queensland Museum)
  • Dr Simone Blomberg (Senior Lecturer and Consultant in Statistics, UQ School of Biological Sciences)

The event will occur in a ‘speed dating’ format. Attendees will rotate in groups to speak with each presenter individually. There will be lots of opportunity to ask questions during the rotations, followed by casual discussion over refreshments provided by IAG.
