Girls in Robotics Day is an all-day robotics workshops held during the school holidays. These workshops aim to extend the students’ problem solving and engineering skills by working through a series of increasingly complicated tasks with the LEGO Mindstorms EV3 robots.

Past workshops have included relay-style secret agent missions, navigating forests and labyrinths, space delivery tasks and more. The workshop is also an opportunity to interact with university students to learn what studying engineering is like, and also to meet like-minded girls their own age.

Girls work in pairs to build their robot, then to program it to accomplish a series of tasks. No previous experience in robotics or programming is required. Workshops are at a variety of skill levels to account for experience.

The advanced workshop is suitable for students in grades 7-12 who have experience with LEGO Mindstorms EV3 robots.

Event Cost: $15
