Does your child love to look for treasure? Come on a  treasure adventure with us at the Gallery and create your own special wooden sculpture!

In this workshop participants will be provided with a blank geometric wooden scultpure, they will be guided to decorate their own sculpture using bright colours and geode patterns. Inspired by the bright prints and patterns of our current exhibition, The Kagi Collection, particpants will be guided through the artisitic process and select colours, experiment with line and shape. They will leave the Gallery with a one of a kind special treasure that they can display proudly.

Where: Rockhampton Art Gallery (entry via the front entry of the Gallery, directly off Victoria Parade)

Who: This workshop has been designed for children (ages 5-12), younger children may require assistance. Please contact the Gallery if you have any questions regarding suitability of the workshop.

Parking: Victoria Parade or Bolsover Car Park behind the Gallery

About the Artist Educator:

Ainslie McMahon is a local artist/educator who has exhibited widely in regional Queensland and facilitated numerous community art workshops for people of all ages. Her work is included in regional gallery collections in Bundaberg and Rockhampton, and numerous private collections.

Ainslie works from her home studio in a rural location near Rockhampton, producing contemporary artwork in the genre of  the landscape and culture of Central Queensland.
