This Earth Hour (24th of March 8.30pm local time), it is time to #Connect2Earth and we would like to invite you to once again join the world’s largest grassroots movement for the environment. For the next three years, WWF’s Earth Hour will be working with the United Nations to help raise awareness about the loss of biodiversity due to climate change. Councils, schools, and businesses around Australia have embraced the theme of encouraging people to connect to nature and we have come across inspiring events that will help to raise community awareness around Australia’s amazing flora and fauna.
So far, we have come across innovative events such as native tree planting, native animal spot-lighting tour, tree planting events and raising awareness about local plants and animals. Night time dives, bush walks and renewable energy workshops are also being planned for Earth Hour 2018.
