Dr Anna Vinkhuyzen Health and medical researcher, Queensland Health
Dr Anna Vinkhuyzen is a policy officer at the Department of Health with a strong background in health and medical research. From 2012 to 2019, Anna was part of the Program of Complex Traits Genomics at the Queensland Brain Institute and later the Institute for Molecular Bioscience within The University of Queensland. The main goal of her research was to understand the genetic and environmental causes of disease to help prevent and improve the treatment of psychiatric and neurological disorders.
In her current role at Queensland Health she advocates for health and medical research, in particular within the public healthcare service.
Anna moved to Australia from The Netherlands and loves to explore the great outdoors with her family. She joined the Homeward Bound program and voyage in 2019.
